La Sciolta Villa in Tuscany
The history of the Villa
Villa La Sciolta was built in 1932 as an intimate and romantic retreat in the heart of Tuscany. The beautiful, unique structure used to be the elegant hunting lodge of a famous italian aviator and a Swiss lady, who both had a deep sense of hospitality. During World War II many people were welcomed in the house, included the Finzi-Contini family.
In 1954, grandfather Ezio and grandmother Tosca purchased Villa La Sciolta, so to reunite their large family and share with them the pleasure of enjoying the wild and romantic nature of the area, close to the most beautiful art cities of Tuscany.
Nowadays, grandchildren Gabriella and Cristiano – together with their children, Annalisa and Alessandro – are taking care of the nature park with the same love and dedication, producing firewood, extra virgin olive oil and natural wines. They have also restored and equipped the Villa and the Cottage with modern and comfortable facilities in harmony with the surrounding natural environment. The sober elegance of the buildings and the beauty of the natural park welcome guests as family friends, in a haven where they can relax and dedicate to the people and activities they love the most.
